As a partner of the PRIVIDEMA Horizon Europe project, Tune Insight participated in the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 2 plenary and editing sessions held in Nürnberg, Germany, in March 2026. These discussions played a key role in advancing the ISO/IEC 28033 series, the emerging international standard framework for Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE).
Tune Insight’s participation directly supported PRIVIDEMA’s mission to advance secure, trustworthy, and interoperable privacy‑enhancing technologies, enabling real‑world data collaboration across Europe and beyond.
A central outcome of the meeting was the continued progress of the FHE standardization roadmap, initiated within ISO in 2020. As co‑editor of ISO/IEC 28033‑4 (TFHE / DM‑CGGI mechanisms) and ISO/IEC 28033‑5 (FHE scheme switching), Tune Insight contributed to ensuring that state‑of‑the‑art FHE techniques—grounded in European research and industrial deployment—are accurately reflected in the international consensus.
Standardization is a critical step in transforming advanced cryptographic research into technologies that can be trusted, adopted, and deployed at scale. The ISO/IEC 28033 series aims to establish a clear and interoperable framework for the main FHE families used in practice today.
Through PRIVIDEMA, this effort bridges cutting‑edge European research, open-source implementation ecosystems, industrial deployment needs, and future regulatory and interoperability frameworks—reinforcing Europe’s strategic leadership in privacy‑enhancing technologies and trustworthy data infrastructures.
All PRIVIDEMA partners are grateful to collaborate with a highly engaged international community of experts from academia, industry, and public institutions, all working toward secure and trustworthy cryptographic technologies. By connecting European innovation, open-source ecosystems, and international standardization, PRIVIDEMA continues to strengthen the foundations of next-generation privacy-preserving digital infrastructures.
